About this place
Set on the 1st floor of the Atre Akihabara 1 shopping complex, Quatre Atre Akihabara 1 immediately catches the eye with its signature Oeuf Pudding, served directly inside delicate, hollowed eggshells. Named after the French word for egg, the confection relies on eggs sourced from Okukuji, Ibaraki Prefecture. It comes in a rotation of flavors including plain custard, strawberry, pumpkin, and rich chocolate. The chocolate variation carries a dense, ganache-like depth, packing concentrated indulgence into a miniature shell.
Among the petit gâteaux lining the showcase, the classic strawberry shortcake stands as the undisputed favorite, layering tender sponge with fresh cream from Hokkaido and generous slices of ripe strawberries for a balanced, gently sweet finish. The display also features a Basque cheesecake with a deeply caramelized surface and a soft, melt-in-the-mouth center, alongside a Mont Blanc crafted with fragrant Japanese chestnuts from Shikoku, and a berry-chocolate mousse layered with tart raspberry cream and crispy feuilletine wafers.
For celebrations or gatherings, whole cakes offer generous centerpieces: square strawberry shortcakes layered with Hokkaido fresh cream, as well as an oversized fruit roll cake rolled with kiwi, banana, orange, and strawberries.
Beyond refrigerated cakes, the patisserie prepares gifts such as hand-turned Baumkuchen baked layer by layer in specialized ovens, as well as assorted baked sweet boxes focusing on quality butter, eggs, and flour. Directly connected to the station, the shop accepts IC transit cards and major credit cards, making it an easy pit stop for a treat after exploring Akihabara or a souvenir on the commute home.
